An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) shows how energy-efficient a property is, rated from A (best) to G (worst).
Anyone selling, renting, or building a property in the UK needs a valid EPC.
You cannot legally rent it out unless you improve the rating to at least E or have a valid exemption.
An EPC is valid for 10 years.
Upgrade insulation, install energy-efficient lighting, improve heating systems, and add double glazing.
You may face fines (typically £200 or more) for not having a valid EPC when required.
